Claude usage limits
Claude is strongest for long-form writing, document analysis, careful reasoning, coding, and team knowledge work. The plan ladder is refreshingly clear: Free for occasional use, Pro for regular individual work, Max for much more capacity, and Team or Enterprise when administration matters.
What to know
Claude's individual plans are capacity based. Anthropic lists Pro at $20/month or $200/year, then Max at $100/month for 5x Pro capacity per session or $200/month for 20x Pro capacity per session.
Claude Code and Claude Cowork are now part of the paid Claude story. That makes Pro and Max more attractive if your usage mixes chat, coding, research, files, and multi-step desktop work.

Limit notes
Claude limits are session based
Anthropic describes usage in terms of session capacity, not a simple fixed message counter. Long prompts, large files, and complex outputs can consume capacity faster.
Max is about capacity, not a different app
Max 5x and Max 20x keep the Pro-style feature set but raise usage, output, priority, and early-access benefits for heavier workflows.
Team seats are flexible
Team workspaces can mix standard and premium seats. That is useful when only some teammates need near-Max usage while everyone still shares workspace controls.
