Perplexity usage limits
Perplexity is the research-first option in the comparison set. It is built around sourced answers, Pro Search, Research, file analysis, advanced models, Create files and apps, and enterprise knowledge search rather than a general chatbot-first workflow.
What to know
Perplexity's free Standard plan is generous for basic searches, but Pro Search, Research, files, advanced models, image/video generation, and premium support are where paid plans start to matter.
The public help center gives clearer numeric limits for Enterprise Pro and Enterprise Max than for individual Pro and Max. For individual tiers, Perplexity often describes usage as average or advanced weekly and monthly limits, so we avoid pretending every cap is a simple fixed number.

Limit notes
Enterprise limits are easier to compare
Perplexity publishes Enterprise Pro and Enterprise Max caps for Pro Searches, Research queries, Browser Agent queries, file uploads, and file/app creation more directly than individual Pro and Max caps.
Max is about advanced access
Individual Max adds the highest level access to advanced models, faster access to newer models, early product access, priority support, and minimal limits for Create files and apps.
API access is separate
Perplexity says Sonar API is pay-as-you-go and does not include Pro web/app features or complimentary API credits. Keep subscription and API budgeting separate.
